According to the National Geographic, the Atenas-La Garita region has the best climate in the world. Without too much bragging, this means that when it rains in San Jose and is too hot for comfort at the Pacific Coast, you will be laughing feeling delightful at temperatures around 77°F. For this reason many Costa Ricans own a country house in these tropical green rolling hills to enjoy the magnificent country site. 

There are many places to visit around La Garita, and sightseeing is an endless excursion. The volcanoes Poas and Irazu, the cloud and rain forests of La Paz and Arenal-Monteverde, National Parks, Butterfly-, Bird- and Botanical Gardens can all be visited during a day trip.  Even a beach day at the Pacific Ocean is well within reach.
