Costa Rica is located just north of the Equator. The seasons are reversed relative to the U.S. and while the U.S. is blanketed in snow Costa Rica is enjoying summer. In La Garita we enjoy year around an average daytime temperature of 80°F. The afternoon shower keeps nature fresh and green. Nowhere in the world is the Bio-Diversity as great as it is in Costa Rica. There are 12,000 plant-types here, of which 1,200 alone are Orchids. 25% of Costa Rica is National Park! The Volcanoes Poas and Irazu, the cloud and rain forests of La Paz and Arenal-Monteverde, the National Parks, Butterfly-, Bird- and Botanical Gardens are just the main attractions which all can be visited during a day trip.
